Technology for Medical Robotics and for Medical Training
Haption designs and manufactures custom force-feedback devices for integration into medical system.
Robotic Teleoperation
Digital Surgical Assistance (co-manipulation)
Realistic Simulation
Since robotic system cannot perform surgical procedures autonomously, they need to be controlled by surgeons.
Surgeons enjoy the best of both worlds by manipulating surgical instruments via a robotic system coupled with an ergonomic force-feedback haptic interface.
They benefit from the precision and extended capabilities of robotic tools while also gaining the advantages of haptic guidance. These innovative features help prevent unwanted instrument movements and enhance the precision of the procedure.
Robotic Teleoperation
“Teleoperation with force feedback improves surgeon comfort by allowing the surgeon to operate from an ergonomic console.
It reduces fatigue, improves perception, and increases stability”

“While some projects demand high precision and deep integration, others require rapid integration. In both cases, Haption provides force-feedback products, solutions, and expertise.””

Minimally invasive surgery is a technique that reduces patient hospital stays, or even allows for outpatient care. The surgeon makes small incisions (just a few millimeters long) to insert a camera and surgical instruments. Handling these instruments is complex and demanding for the surgeon: dexterity is reduced, the field of view is limited, and the perception of forces exerted between organs and instruments is significantly altered.
Maestro, from Moon Surgical, is designed to assist surgeons, operating room staff, and patients during soft-tissue surgical procedures. Compact and adaptable, Maestro integrates into existing clinical workflows for all laparoscopic indications.
“Moon Surgical, a French-American pioneer in surgical innovation, announced today the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for the commercial version of its unique Maestro surgical system.”
